Major Daventry planning appeals co-join for New Year inquiry
11 November 2008
A joint public inquiry into plans to develop three areas of
Daventry has been re-scheduled.
Five appeals will be heard against non-determination of planning
applications for developments at Danetree (land north of the A45),
Church Fields (Long Buckby Road) and Monksmoor Farm (Welton
Lane). There are five appeals for three sites, as two of the
sites are split between the jurisdictions of Daventry District
Council and West Northamptonshire Development Corporation
(WNDC).
The public inquiry is now scheduled to begin on January 20,
2009, a week later than originally proposed. It will take place in
the Sturtridge Suite, at Franklins Gardens (Saints Ground), Weedon
Road, Northampton, where the Planning Inspector will consider the
planning matters, before reporting to the Secretary of State for a
final determination.
On Monday, November 17, Daventry District Council and WNDC,
together with the appellants and other interested parties, will
meet for a second time with the Planning Inspectorate for
pre-inquiry discussions.
The meeting, which takes place at Franklin’s Gardens, Weedon
Road, Northampton, from 1.30pm, will organise the timetable and
procedures for the co-joining of the appeals. It will not discuss
the merits of the case or make any decisions. It is open to members
of the public.
There are regular bus services from Daventry to Northampton that
pass the venue.
